Job Position: Sr. Linux DB2 DBA

Job Type: W2 Contract

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 months with likely extension

Required Skills:

1) Administration, Performance Tuning and Optimization on Linux DB2 systems. - 7+ years

2) Troubleshooting and fixing SQL queries. - 7+ years

3) Enterprise and large database systems support experience.

4) AWS skills are a plus

Need a DB2 DBA on LUX (Linux, UNIX, Windows)…not that of DB2 z/OS. Any AWS EC2 skills would be helpful, but not required. All 30 DB2 databases have been migrated to AWS cloud, the resource will have strong Linux DB2 experience with focus on performance and tuning, troubleshooting and able to identify and fix queries quickly.

• Proficient in the design, development, integration, testing and support of large database systems necessary to support the information system needs.
• Performs monitoring and tuning for performance and recommends Application database enhancements.
• Build DB2 native standby databases and configure them optimally.
• Any of the DB replication tools like Qrep, Qlik and/or Informatica CDC
• Experience with Online utilities, indexing strategies, index management and statistics for 500 million+ row tables. 
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong SQL and application coding skills
• Complete familiarity with various database maintenance and administration utilities.
• Experience with Data Replication, and proficient in task scripting.
• Experience with DB2 database on EC2/AWS
• Deep understanding of AWS Storage with respect to DB2 database
• Problem-solving and communication skills.
• DB2 DBA Certification is a plus.
